After months of hearing about Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, I recently decided it was finally time for me to give it a try. I’ve been wearing this foundation everyday for the past three weeks and am throughly impressed with the results and might even go as far to consider it a holy grail foundation for me.
Chanel describes this as an “ultra-light skin perfecting makeup” offering an “instant natural radiance” and I found this to be an accurate description. As a water based foundation, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is quite runny in its formula but feels light and almost nonexistent when on the skin. While claiming to be a skin perfecting makeup, this foundation will even out any overall imperfections in skin-tone but any blemishes or dark marks may need to be covered with concealer.
I also found that the lasting power of this foundation to be very impressive. I have normal to combination skin that gets a little oily through the t-zone and some dry patches that come with colder weather. While it does get a little shiny through the t-zone, if set with a powder the shine can easily be kept away. The foundation even applies flawlessly over any dry patches I have had.
All in all, I am absolutely in love with the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation and everything it has offer. I wouldn’t recommend this foundation for someone with extremely oily skin or someone who is looking for a bit more than a light coverage foundation. I found it to offer just the right amount of coverage for a daily foundation while still keeping the skin looking natural and even.
