Battle of the Spot Treatments:

In the past month I’ve been having some serious breakout issues that nothing seems to help. So I’ve been trying out different spot treatments to find something that works best on my skin. In the search for the perfect spot treatment I went to youtube to see what some of my favorite beauty bloggers use and decided to try out two different products; La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo and Lush Grease Lightning.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo
So many beauty bloggers rave about this product and the wonders it did for their acne prone skin, however I was disappointed to see that this product did not have the same effect on my skin. The Effaclar Duo is described as a “dual action treatment that reduces the number and severity of breakouts with minimal irritation”.
While this product did treat my spots decently, my skin was seriously irritated by the spot treatment. I applied this twice daily to spots on my forehead and chin and found that it overly dried out my skin to the point where it was almost impossible for makeup to apply well over it even when using a moisturizing cream.
I have combination to normal skin and would not recommend anyone with a similar skin type to use this product. Someone with oily skin may find that this products works better for them and does not dry out their skin.

Lush Grease Lightning
After not having luck with other spot treatments and having heard a few good things about Lush’s spot treatment I decided to go to the nearest Lush and see what they had to offer. At the time I had a massive zit in the center of my nose that had to go, within 24 hours of using the Lush Grease Lightning my massive zit had shrunken to a small dot that was easily covered with a tinted moisturizer.
Lush describes this product as a “herbal infusion that conditions the skin with grape juice that cleanses and keeps spots free of dirt”. In comparison to the La Roche Posay spot treatment, Grease Lightning was now where near as drying and got rid of my spots in a matter of two days.
I would seriously recommend this product to anyone with spot prone skin who is looking for a quick fix to their pimple problems.
